Where is the event located?

The event will take place at Rantoul Family Sports Complex, located at 744 Murray Rd, Rantoul, IL 61866. Phone: 217-893-5732.

Where do I park?

Parking is available on site for over 900 vehicles at Rantoul Family Sports Complex. When traveling to the event, please carpool when possible to help reserve parking and reduce traffic on event day.

What amenities are available?

Amenities include 8 fields, a splash pad, concessions, toilet facilities, food trucks, and more.

What time should I arrive?

Check-in will be open from 8:00 AM until 1:00 PM. The record attempt begins at 2:00 PM.

Where do I check in?

Participants should check in at the main gate. Volunteers will be there to direct people where to go.

What happens when I check in?

Each participant will receive a section and number when they sign in. After signing in, participants will be directed to their assigned section.

What time does the record attempt begin?

The record attempt begins at 2:00 PM. Please make sure you are checked in before 1:00 PM so volunteers have time to get everyone assigned and directed to the correct sections.

What happens if it rains?

The rain date is Sunday, October 11, 2026. Weather-related updates will be communicated by the organizers if needed.

Do I need a partner to register?

No. You do not need to sign up with a partner ahead of time. Some participants will arrive with someone they plan to throw with, while others will find a partner at the event.

How will pairing work?

Pairing will happen at the event. If you do not have a partner when you arrive, there will be a section for participants who still need to pair up.

What do I need to bring?

You must bring your own glove. Only a baseball or softball may be used. If you do not have a ball one will be provided.

Will gloves or balls be provided?

Participants should plan to bring their own glove. Baseballs and softballs only may be used for the event. We will have balls available but please try to bring your own if possible.

Can I use a tennis ball, wiffle ball, or other substitute?

No. Only baseballs and softballs may be used.

Are there age requirements?

Yes. Participants must be age 7 or older.

Is there a cost to participate?

No. Participation is free.

What is the mission of the event?

Our mission is to give everyone an opportunity to be part of a Guinness World Record attempt and receive a Guinness World Record certificate.

Are political shirts, signs, banners, or hats allowed?

No. This is a family-friendly community event. Political apparel, signs, banners, flags, hats, shirts, or other political display items are not allowed. Anyone bringing or wearing prohibited items may be asked to remove them, return them to their vehicle, or may be refused entry.

Can organizers refuse entry?

Yes. Event organizers reserve the right to refuse entry or remove anyone who does not follow event rules, creates a disruption, or presents a safety concern.

Is there a participant agreement?

Yes. By registering and participating, participants agree to follow event rules and directions from event staff and volunteers. Participants understand that physical activity involves risk and agree to hold harmless the event, organizers, volunteers, sponsors, venue, and affiliated parties from claims related to injury, loss, or damages connected with participation in the event.

Will there be prizes?

Yes. Prizes are planned for categories such as farthest traveled, youngest pair, oldest pair, coolest jersey, and more. Gift certificates from many Central Illinois restaurants are also planned as part of the event giveaways.

Are prizes guaranteed?

No, you are not guaranteed a prize for participating. Prize categories and giveaway details may be updated by the organizers before the event.

Can I share photos or videos from the event?

Yes. A Facebook page will be available for participants to share photos and videos of their teams, travel, and event-day experience.

Do I have to share photos or videos to participate?

No. Sharing photos and videos is optional.

Can I buy event shirts?

Yes. Event shirts are available through the official store. Event shirts are not required to participate.
